About

GPA Calc is a set of free GPA and grade calculators for students, parents and teachers. They work out a GPA the way a registrar does — grade points times credits, divided by credits — and show every step with your own numbers, so you can check the result against your transcript.

Schools do not all use the same scale. Some give an A− 3.7, some 3.67; some count an A+ as 4.3; some weight Honors and AP classes and some do not. Instead of hiding one choice inside the maths, every calculator lets you pick the scale your school uses, and every scale is listed onhow we calculate with the source it came from.

Everything runs in your browser. There is no account and nothing is sent anywhere. Your entries are remembered in your own browser so they are there when you come back; “Start over” clears them.

Corrections

If a result looks wrong, the fastest fix is a specific one: which calculator, what you entered, what you expected, and where your expected figure comes from (a transcript, a syllabus, a registrar’s page). Corrections are reflected on the how we calculate page.

Limits

These are estimates for planning. Your official GPA is the one your school calculates, which can include rules this site does not know about — repeated classes, grade forgiveness, transfer credit or rounding. When the two disagree, the registrar is right.
